Money Mentors

Managing your finances can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Our free financial coaching program can provide the support you need to make progress toward your goals.

Money Mentors, our free financial coaching program, pairs you with a volunteer coach and connects you with a peer network to help you reach your financial goals. Coaches and participants meet one-on-one virtually or in-person every month for 6-24 months. A financial coach’s role is to provide encouragement, support, and accountability. They’ll work with you to help change behaviors, reduce barriers, and create positive,
long-term financial habits.

Our coaches work with you to reach goals like:

  • Creating and Following a Budget
  • Boosting Savings
  • Building Credit
  • Reducing Debt
  • and more

One-On-One Sessions

Once you’re paired with a coach, you work together to determine the schedule of the meetings. Whether you want to work in-person or online, you’ll work together to meet your goal(s).

Throughout the experience, you decide what to share. The coaching experience is
judgment-free, offering supportive guidance for your unique needs.

All Money Mentors coaches are informed of the systemic issues that cause financial inequities and are encouraged to take a compassionate and understanding approach to financial coaching.

Peer Sessions

In regular virtual sessions, participants come together to explore financial topics such as budgeting, saving, and managing debt. These conversations offer a space to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from others. Peer sessions give encouragement and motivation.

Create A Plan

A coach is someone who will listen, hold you accountable, and cheer you on to the finish line. They will first listen to understand the whole financial picture, then help you get started and create a plan to get where you want to go.

Stick To It

Let’s face it, getting to your goal is a lot easier and a lot more fun when someone’s there with you, cheering you on and keeping you on track.

Make Change Happen

Reach your dreams. Boost your credit, eliminate debt, increase savings, increase your income, control spending, or whatever your goal may be.

  • Tell you what to do or how to do it
  • Presume to be an expert in your financial situation
  • Offer financial counseling or advice
  • Help with investments, bankruptcy, wills, or trusts
  • Negotiate with creditors about your debt
